Tom Voelk from the NY Times bought a Mazda MX-5 Miata the day they came out in 1990 and has been in his family since.
Tom said this, “Miata is a car that’s worn like a jacket. The lithe driving dynamic is a second skin. Anyone who calls it a “chick car” simply hasn’t driven one or watched Miatas race. The originals had just 116 horsepower — not exactly a Corvette. But as the saying goes, it’s more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow.”
